Erica Meiners
Erica R. Meiners, involved with a number of local social justice initiatives in Chicago, is the author of Right to be hostile: Schools, prisons and the making of public enemies. She is currently working collaboratively on a long-term study of undocumented youth, criminalization, and access to higher education and, with Therese Quinn, on how queer issues are used in the privatization of public education. She is an Associate Professor of Education and Women's Studies at Northeastern Illinois University and a coordinator and teacher at an alternative high school for formerly incarcerated men and women, St. Leonard's High School.
